Hello Everyone!<\/strong><\/p>\n

We had a busy week in Year 2 English this week! \u00a0We did a little \u00a0bit of everything: <\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Singing and dancing (<\/span>with physical distance, of course!)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    2. Revising Jolly Phonics and reading<\/span><\/p>\n

    3. Lots of talking about personal hygiene and English vocabuluary related to COVID<\/strong><\/span>, self-care<\/span> and how we felt about confinement,<\/span> t<\/span>h<\/span>e first things we did after confinement<\/span> and how lovely it is to be back at school<\/strong><\/span>!<\/p>\n

    Also we spent some time talking about GRATITUDE. \u00a0This is part of our self care plan.<\/strong> \u00a0We discussed that even though things are difficult due to the pandemic, and we feel we are missing so much, we have so much to be thankful for.<\/p>\n

    We also talked about recognizing those who help and give to us, and we can help and give to others. \u00a0Taking actions in these times helps us to feel better about the world.<\/p>\n

    To help us understand these BIG concepts, we read a story called\u00a0THE GIVING TREE<\/em> by Shel Silverstein.<\/p>\n

    So many students commented that the Giving Trees<\/em> in their<\/strong> lives are their families, friends and school. \u00a0We had some really touching conversations and I am inspired by the optimism in Year Two!<\/p>\n

    I am looking forward diving even deeper into English class with the children in the coming school year!<\/p>\n
