We thought in this blog entry, we would help you explain to your parents what we have been working on in class recently. So….<\/p>\n
Dear Year 2 Parents:<\/strong><\/p>\n We have initiated a review of all the concepts that have been working on this year in Year 2.\u00a0 Of course a key part of our learning has centered on learning phonics and tricky words<\/em><\/span> to\u00a0 initiate reading and writing abilities in English.\u00a0 We are pleased that everyone is progressing at their own rate!\u00a0 It is very exciting to see little readers growing and learning!<\/p>\n \u00a1Hola, 2\u00ba!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Hemos pensado utilizar esta entrada del blog para ayudaros a explicar en casa lo que hemos estado trabajando en clase durante los \u00faltimos d\u00edas, as\u00ed que\u2026<\/em><\/p>\n \u00a1Hola, mam\u00e1s y pap\u00e1s de 2\u00ba!<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n Hemos comenzado una revisi\u00f3n de todos los conceptos que hemos estado trabajando durante este curso. Por supuesto, una parte esencial de nuestro aprendizaje ha sido aprender los sonidos y las \u201ctricky words\u201d (palabras tramposas)<\/span> para iniciar al alumnado en sus habilidades de lectoescritura en ingl\u00e9s. \u00a1Estamos muy contentas porque todo el mundo est\u00e1 avanzando a su propio ritmo! \u00a1Es emocionante ver a estos peque\u00f1os y peque\u00f1as lectoras crecer aprendiendo!<\/em><\/p>\n Other themes that we have worked on this year include different places<\/span> (through our celebration of European Day of Languages<\/span> in September, our Mediterranean Culture Week<\/span>, and the different international holidays and festivals we have celebrated.)\u00a0 Additionally, we have revised and added to our knowledge about food, transport, actions, the parts of the house, animals, <\/strong>and bodies.<\/strong> \u00a0(It’s been a productive, fruitful year in English class!)<\/span><\/p>\n Otros temas que hemos trabajado este a\u00f1o incluyen diferentes lugares<\/span> (a trav\u00e9s de nuestra celebraci\u00f3n del D\u00eda Europeo de las Lenguas<\/span> en septiembre, nuestra Semana Cultural sobre el Mediterr\u00e1neo<\/span>, y las diferentes festividades internacionales que hemos celebrado).<\/em><\/p>\n Adem\u00e1s, hemos revisado y a\u00f1adido a nuestro conocimiento muchos conceptos relacionados con la comida, el transporte, las acciones, las partes de la casa, los animales, y nuestro cuerpo. (\u00a1Ha sido un curso muy fruct\u00edfero y productivo en clase de ingl\u00e9s<\/span>!)<\/em><\/p>\n For our SUPER REVISION<\/strong><\/span> activity, we began by reading\u00a0 <\/span>Harold and the Purple Crayon! \u00a0<\/span><\/strong>This classic book written\u00a0 by Crockett Johnson in 1955 is still relevant and magical today!\u00a0 The book is about Harold, who takes his supersize purple crayon to dream and draw his many adventures in the moonlight.<\/span>\u00a0 We discussed the book, and then asked the students what color crayon they would use to take them on an adventure! Of course, their adventure included saying what transport they used, places they visited, food they ate, and animals that they saw.\u00a0 What a fun excuse to put our learning to good use!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Para nuestra actividad de SUPER REVISI\u00d3N<\/span><\/strong>, empezamos a leer Harold and the Purple Crayon (Harold y el l\u00e1piz morado)<\/span> <\/strong>Este cl\u00e1sico libro escrito por Crockett Johnson en 1955 sigue siendo relevante y m\u00e1gico a\u00fan hoy en d\u00eda. El libro nos habla de Harold, que coge su l\u00e1piz de color morado y con \u00e9l dibuja y sue\u00f1a sus muchas aventuras bajo la luz de la luna.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n Primero hablamos sobre el libro, y luego hicimos ronda de preguntas para averiguar qu\u00e9 color elegir\u00edan para crear su propia aventura.
