Today in the yellow class we expanded our normal conversation about fruit and colors to include the ingredients in salad! Â It was very exciting to go to the dining room and make our own salad for lunch! First, we talked about the vegetables, their names and colors. Then we got to tear the lettuce up, and our teachers helped us cut tomatoes, carrots, and apples. Â We also added corn to our salad, and finally we dressed it with salt and olive oil. Â The best part was tasting each ingredient.
Here is a song about vegetables in English to continue to practice veggie names in English at home! Click on the salad below to hear the song.
We have finished coloring and hanging our clothes in the yellow class!  You can see our beautiful clothesline with pink, blue, yellow, green, white, and red shirts, shoes and pants!  Almost everyone in the class is happy to tell me what they are wearing!
We’ve been busy these past couple of weeks! Â We have been talking about winter, about how it is COLD and the clothes we wear when it is cold. Â We read a book about winter, revised our colors and colored our very own mittens! Â Here are some photos of our experience!
The children were offered their choice of four colors for their mittens, but were only allowed to use three. Â Some children, when asked which color they want, simply repeat the last color they hear. Â Others are very clear and select their color independently, with no regard to the order in which they are offered! Â What clear progress of understanding and English production!
We also started learning the song «Jingle Bells.»  Here is a link to listen and practice at home!

We have been celebrating spring in the yellow class.  We have used the occasion to revise colors and to introduce vocabulary related to spring weather and animals (sun, clouds, rainbow, rabbit, bunny, sheep, lamb, flowers, ducks…).  We read a book about spring and have done several activities to practice our new vocabulary.  Here are some photos of our fun!
