Good apps to practice English for pre-schoolers

There are a million and one terrific apps for kids to practice English-both those specific to children learning English as  a foreign language and those for native English speakers.  I will gradually post more ideas for you, but two that are popular in my house now are Zoo Train and Duck, Duck, Moose.

Zoo Train contains five games exposing children to letters,  words, puzzles, shapes and music.  Here is a link to BusyBee Studios, the creators of Zoo Train.  This app is available for a variety of tablets.

Hay muchos apps para niños para practicar inglés, tanto para nativos como no nativos.  Poco a poco, daré sugerencias para que podéis disfrutarlos en casa.  Arriba pongo dos ejemplos de apps que incluyen juegos de letras, palabras, y música.  Son muy populares en mi casa, y estoy segura que vuestros hijos y hijas los disfrutarán también.

A mini-dialogue: family, emotions and farm animals.

We have been very busy in the Yellow class continuing our work and revision with family.  Now the students are practicing asking each other «How are you?» and answering «I’m happy.» or «I’m sad.»  They ask each other and also hold the pictures of members of the family while asking and answering.

We have also taken advantage of the students’ work with farm animals to learn the names in English and practice singing «Old MacDonald Had a Farm.»

Hemos estado trabajando muchas temas en la clase amarilla!  Seguimos con la familia y hemos aprendido un dialogo corto.  Los alumnos ya están practicando decir, «¿Como estas?» y responder «Estoy feliz.» o «Estoy triste.»  Preguntan a cada uno, o practican cogiendo las fotos de las miembros de la familia también.

También hemos aprovechado de la propuesta de animales de la granja y estamos aprendiendo los nombres de los animales en inglés. Aquí os dejo varios vídeos y canciones para disfrutar y practicar en casa.
