There are so many words to say as you move on to this next phase of your lives, and also there are almost no more words left to say before our great goodbye!

But still, we wanted to leave you with some important messages from some of the best:

We hope these words will serve all of you going forward, because we know you all have bright futures ahead!

And now a story to push you up and onward!

And to conclude,  inspiring songs whose messages we hope you’ll take to heart:

English and World Events

Sometimes English class isn’t about English.  Sometimes, it needs to be about discussing the world in English.

Some more historical vocabulary for you…

The world is witnessing horrors in Ukraine right now as they suffer under Russian shelling*.

Year 6– you impressed me today with your knowledge about another time the world nervously watched Russia’s every move and listened carefully to words from the Kremlin* to determine the level of danger.  Many of you knew the basics about the Cold War*– the political and economic war waged between the USSR* and the USA, and their NATO* allies after WWII* until the 1990’s.

While this song evokes another moment in history, the message rings loud and clear in the hearts of parents everywhere today: We hope the Russians love their children too.

So, just in case  you want to listen again, here is Russians, by Sting.

*shelling- being attacked by bombs

*Kremlin- the seat of Russian government

*Cold War- the economic and political war between  Western allies and the *Union of Soviet Socialist Republics

*NATO- North Atlantic Treaty Organization (OTAN)

*WWII – World War Two
