¿Que llevas puesto?  This is the question that we are exploring in the yellow class.  And with arrival of warm temperatures, it is clear the answer is: a lot less!

While we have been using the vocabulary, «Put on your…jacket.»  regularly to go out to the patio everyday, our vocabulary is changing with the warm weather.

So we are playing games and pointing to our own clothes to learn the words t-shirt, pants, and shoes–the «informal uniform» that most students wear daily.  Here are some photos of our most recent games.

 

 

¿Qué llevas puesto? Esta es la pregunta que estamos explorando en la clase amarilla. Y con la llegada de temperaturas más calentitas, está claro que la respuesta es: ¡mucha menos!

Mientras que hemos estado utilizando el vocabulario, «Ponte la …chaqueta, etc» regularmente para ir al patio todos los días, nuestro vocabulario está cambiando con el clima cálido.

Así que estamos jugando a juegos y señalando a nuestra propia ropa para aprender las palabras camiseta, pantalones y zapatos – el «uniforme informal», que la mayoría de los estudiantes llevan puesto diariamente. Aquí os pongo algunas fotos de nuestros juegos más recientes.

Happy, Sad, Angry….

In the yellow class we are learning to identify our emotions in English.  Each day, the students respond to the question «How are you?»  and we place their face on the «Emotions train» in the correct place after the students voluntarily say, or repeat «I’m happy. I’m sad. or I’m angry.»

It is so exciting that half the class can produce an answer all by themselves!  Even those students who don’t quite remember their answer yet repeat it very clearly!  This a fantastic new level of communication together!

We have colored the corresponding face for each emotion and we sing:

En la clase amarilla estamos aprendiendo a identificar nuestras emociones en Inglés. Cada día, los estudiantes responden a la pregunta  "¿Cómo estás?" y colocamos su cara en el "tren de las emociones" en el lugar correcto.  A continuación,  los estudiantes dicen voluntariamente, o repiten "Estoy feliz . Estoy triste, o yo estoy enfadado."

Es muy emocionante que la mitad de la clase puede producir una respuesta por sí mismos! Incluso aquellos estudiantes que no recuerdan su respuesta todavía lo repiten muy claro! Este es un nuevo nivel de comunicación fantástico!

Hemos coloreado la cara correspondiente para cada emoción (amarillo-happy, azul-sad, rojo-angry) y cantamos (pinchar en el enlace arriba).

AHHHH winter.  its coldThis cold season in the blue class means we stop talking as much about the daily classroom routine of having snacks, putting on our jackets and going out to the patio.  Instead, we stay warm inside and explore new language playing with things we don’t normally play with in English class.

Recently that has meant playing with  babies, and baby buggies and also the ride on toys.  So the children have been listening to get on, get off and share!

We have also been singing a lot.  Here is a link to a recent favorite: «Old McDonald had a farm…»  We sing this song, point to the pictures of the animals in the class and make their noises.

It has been a nice change of pace to have so much relaxed time inside to use new language with the students.  Even so, we are looking forward to warmer days to go outside again!

AHHHH invierno. Esta estación fría en la clase azul significa que dejamos de hablar tanto de la rutina diaria del aula de tomar la fruta, poner nuestras chaquetas y salir al patio. En su lugar, nos quedamos dentro, calentitos, y aprendemos nuevo vocabulario jugando con las cosas que normalmente no tenemos tiempo de sacar en la clase de Inglés.

Recientemente estos juegos han incluido los bebés, cochecitos de bebé y también los juguetes para montarse y divertirse. Así que los niños han estado escuchando a subir, bajar y compartir !


También hemos estado cantando mucho. Aquí hay un enlace a un nuevo hit favorito: "Old McDonald tenía una granja ... " Nosotros cantamos esta canción, señalamos las imágenes de los animales en la clase e imitamos sus onomatopeyas.

Ha sido un buen cambio de ritmo tener tanto tiempo relajados dentro para poder usar nuevo vocabulario. Aún así, tenemos ganas de salir al patio en cuanto los días sean más calentitos!

Happy New Year!

In the Yellow class we have had a wonderful return to school.  During the first several days of class we revised the vocbaulary we learned in the first term.

We have spend the last two weeks learning about animal names and noises in English.  Here is a link to the song that we learned.

The students chose a favorite animal from the song and  colored it to make their crowns!  Here are some photos of the process!

 

Next, we are learning to explain how we feel: happy, sad, or angry.

 

Feliz Año Nuevo!

En la clase amarilla hemos tenido un maravilloso regreso a la escuela . Durante los primeros días de clase revisamos el vocabulario que aprendimos en el primer trimestre .

También empezamos a aprender los nombres de los animales y su onomatopeya en Inglés . Aquí hay un enlace a la canción que hemos aprendido y las fotos de nuestro fiesta de los animales!

Ahora estamos aprendiendo a decir como nos sentimos en Ingles: happy, sad, o angry.
