Children in the Orange class were introduced to the delights of Kipper the dog. We watched the episode of Pig´s Present,  then talked about the story afterwards to help their understanding. You can check out the story below.

In the Red class we started looking at vocabulary about food and learnt a new chant. We also read a story about the making of a cake that had an unfortunate ending.
Children in the Green class  have embarked on the making of owl finger puppets, to represent different family members. They will be used next week to inspire mini dialogues.

Introducimos los niños y niñas de la clase naranja a los encantos de Kipper el perro. Vimos el episodio del Regalo del Cerdo, y luego hablamos sobre el cuento para ayudar su comprensión. Podéis ver el cuento arriba.
En la clase roja nos hemos familiarizado con el vocabulario de la comida y aprendimos una canción nueva sobre eso. También leímos un cuento sobre como hacer  un bizcocho y este tuvo un desafortunado final.
Los niños y niñas en la clase verde han empezado a hacer marionetas de búhos,  cada una representando un miembro de la familia. La semana que viene las utilizaremos para  hacer           mini- diálogos. 

In the Orange class we continued with the  song «The Wheels on the bus» and participated in the dancing game, which requires the children to listen and follow simple instructions when the music stops. The instructions given were:

• jump
• turn round
• sit down

In the Red class we started the week with a fruit picnic outside, where the children chose their desired fruits as part of their morning snack, and finished the week by using fruit as part of a painting activity, doing fruit prints.

In the Green class we have learnt a new song about the family and have worked on a portrait of our own family, We also got very involved with a counting activity comprising of counting the golden beans and recording our results. Responding to  popular demand, this activity will be repeated next week.

En la clase naranja seguimos trabajando con la canción » Las ruedas del autobús»  y participamos en un juego de baile, que requiere a los niños y niñas seguir unas simples instrucciones cuando para la música. Las instrucciones eran:

• saltar
• dar la vuelta
• sentarse

En la clase roja empezamos la semana con un picnic de fruta al aire libre, donde los niños y niñas elegían sus frutas deseadas como parte de su tente-pie de la mañana, y terminamos la semana usando la fruta como parte de una actividad de pintura, haciendo estampados de fruta.
En la clase verde hemos aprendido una canción nueva sobre la familia y hemos trabajado en un retrato de nuestra familia. También nos interesamos mucho en una actividad que consiste en contar las habas doradas y apuntar  nuestros resultados. Respondiendo al demande de los niños y niñas, repetiremos esta actividad la semana que viene. 

In the Orange class we have  been singing the song «The Wheels on the Bus» and have enjoyed the book of the song, which has all sorts of tabs to pull that make different parts of the book move, an effect that fascinates  the children. I´ve posted the song below.

In the Red class  we are revising the names of the fruit, and including a few new additions such as cherries, peach, grapes, and mango.
In the  Green class we are learning the names of the family members. This week we have focused on the owl family, which included  a  session on drawing techniques of owls, all explained in English.

En la clase naranja hemos cantado la canción «la ruedas del autobús» y hemos disfrutado ver el libro de la canción, el  cual tiene todo tipos de etiquetas para tirar, que hace que distintas partes del libro se muevan, que fascinan a los niños y niñas. La canción está puesta arriba.
En la clase roja estamos repasando los nombres de las frutas, e incluyendo unas palabras nuevas como cerezas, melocotón, uvas y mango.
En la clase verde estamos aprendiendo los nombres de los miembros de la familia. Esta semana nos hemos enfocado en la familia del búho, también incluye una sesión de técnicas para dibujarlos, todo explicado en inglés.

Children in the Orange class have been learning a new song, Tommy Thumb, which is all about our fingers and their names. We´ve also danced and when the music stops we´ve gracefully turned round and sat down, calling for the music to be restarted. Together, with Carmen Jimeñez translating in Spanish, we read the story of  «Big and Small».
In the Red class we have been busy enjoying a variety of games related to the colours of the rainbow. Sorry folks, I didn´t manage to video the children performing the Rainbow song but I´ve posted a couple of  photos below.

The video below is one the children in the Green class viewed on Monday and then went on to paint their own Elmer, working in pairs. Work on spinners continued as well, culminating in the great spinner championship for half the class, to be repeated next week for the other group.

Los niños y niñas en la clase naranja han estado aprendiendo una canción nueva, sobre los dedos y sus nombres. También hemos bailado y cuando paró la música, dimos una vuelta y nos sentamos en el suelo, aclamando el reinicio de la música. Junto con Carmen Jiménez, traduciendo en español,    leímos el cuento «Grande y Pequeño».
En la clase roja hemos disfrutado con una variedad de juegos relacionados con los colores del arco iris. Lo siento, no conseguí grabar la actuación por vídeo pero he posteado un par de fotos arriba.
El vídeo arriba es uno que los niños y niñas de la clase verde vieron el lunes. Luego pintaron su propio Elmer, trabajando en parejas. El trabajo de los peonzas también continuó, culminando con el gran campeonato de peonzas para la mitad de la clase, el otro grupo lo harán la semana que viene.
