Year 1 and Year 2 are working on numbers in English, counting and adding. Year 1 Class is working on numbers from 1 to 12 and Year 2 Class is working on numbers from 1 to 20.We have played two dice games: «Golden Beans» and «Hedgehogs». In one of the games you roll the dice, count and add in English.

Primero y Segundo están trabajando sobre los números en inglés. La clase de Primero trabaja con los números del 1 al 12 y Primero trabaja con los números del 1 al 20. Hemos jugado dos juegos de dados, el de las habas doradas y el de los erizos. En uno de los juegos, el de los erizos, se lanza el dado, se cuenta y se va sumando.

Our plasticine posters about the Body are finished! We will go on learning about the different body parts and you can come and see our work that is displayed in the English Room. Here´s a slide show with all our «plasticine people»

In year 1 we are continuing with the presentations of our families and we have just started revising the parts of the body. We are enjoying singing the song – Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.

En 1º seguimos con las presentaciones de la familia y estamos repasando las partes del cuerpo. Disfrutamos cantando la canción – Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes.

We have been looking at the exterior parts of the house and have learnt a new song «we are going to build a house». We are moving on to consider the occupants of the house and introduce vocabulary about the extended family.

Hemos nombrado las partes exteriores de la casa y aprendido una canción nueva «vamos a construir una casa». Ya estamos considerando los ocupantes de la casa e introduciendo vocabulario sobre la familia extendida.

We have looked together at the difference of learning English in Year 1 Primary and the Infants. One of the main differences is that the children are expected to communicate mainly in English. To reinforce classroom expectations we have read the story: «How do dinosaurs go to school?»

Hemos estado viendo las diferencias entre aprender inglés en Primaria y en Infantil. Una de las más importantes es que en Primaria se espera de los niños que se comuniquen en clase principalmente en inglés. Para reforzar las normas de clase hemos leído el libro:»¿Cómo van los dinosaurios al colegio?».
