Hello Primary 1!
What clothes are you wearing today?

In our English classes in Primary 1, we are learning about CLOTHES: clothes vocabulary, how to describe what people are wearing, etc.
During the lessons, we learned many new words related to clothing such as: t-shirt, jeans, jacket, dress, skirt, trainers, hat, mittens and so on.
An important structure we practiced is the verb TO WEAR. We learned how to describe what someone wears using sentences like: “She is wearing a red dress,” or “He is wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt.” This helped us practice both vocabulary and grammar at the same time.
To make learning more fun, we also listened some songs about clothes and fashion. Here you can enjoy some of them!
Another big part of the project is the creation of our own clothing store. First, we worked in groups to decide the name of the shop and the type of clothes we wanted to sell, then we designed the shop, chose different clothing items, and prepared prices and descriptions and for them. Finally, we will use our store to do a role play in class.
Some students acted as shop assistants and others as customers.
The customers ask questions like “How much is this?” and the shop assistant asks: “What do you need?” and helped them choose clothes.

This activity is allowing us to practice speaking English in a real-life situation!
We’ll keep you updated! See you tomorrow! Bye!
