YEAR 2 – Bugs and their environment

In year 2 we have learned the names of different bugs we can find in our environment and we ended the unit by going «bugs hunting» in the garden. We «caught them» with our eyes and described where each one was (tree, leaf, stick, stone, flower). It was fun to run around looking for them!

En 2º hemos aprendido los nombres de distintos bichos que se pueden encontrar en nuestro entorno inmediato. Para finalizar la unidad didáctica, hemos ido a «cazar bichos» en el jardín. Los hemos «atrapado» con la vista y hemos descrito donde cada uno se encontraba posado. Lo hemos pasado bien correteando y buscándolos!

As the Green Class is soon going on their field trip, we are learning about farm animals around a beautiful story written by Bill Martin Jr and Eric Carle, and doing related activities. We are also reviewing colours. They surely would love to read this story again at home, with all the family.

Como la clase Verde irá pronto de viaje a la granja escuela, estamos aprendiendo los animales de la granja. Para ello,  nos hemos apoyado en un precioso cuento cuyos autores son Bill Martin Jr and Eric Carle y realizamos actividades en relación con el tema a la vez que basado en el cuento. También, aprovechamos para repasar los colores. Seguro que les encantaría volver a leer el cuento en casa, con toda la familia.

ORANGE CLASS – Farm animals (Old Mc Donald’s farm)

Children in the Orange Class are learning about farm animals. We read stories and sing songs with the new vocabulary like “Old MacDonald had a farm”. We play with animals and we have lots of fun making “animal noises”, all in English.

Los niños de la Clase Naranja están aprendiendo sobre los animales de la granja. Leemos historias y cantamos canciones con el nuevo vocabulario. A los niños les gusta mucho la canción de “Old MacDonald”. Jugamos con animales y nos lo pasamos muy bien haciendo ruidos de animales, todo en inglés.

RED CLASS – Wild animals («Walking in the jungle»)

As part of our new unit on wild animals, we are learning the related vocabulary (e.g. toucan, tiger, monkey, frog, elephant, crocodile, lion) through different activities, as well as by singing and acting out a song they absolutely love: «Walking in the jungle».

Como parte de nuestra unidad sobre los animales salvajes, estamos aprendiendo el vocabulario (ej. (e.g. toucan, tiger, monkey, frog, elephant, crocodile, lion), a través de distintas actividades, así como cantando y actuando esta canción que les ha encantado: «Walking in the jungle».

Easter Bunny hid chocolate eggs in the garden and children in the Orange, Red and Green Classes have had a great time hunting them. Happy holidays!
