We continue to work on expressing our feelings with the addition of attempting to  say why we feel like that. The children have produced their very own book of feelings and are very proud to come out and read it.

The following is a sample of  what is read:
She is sad. Why? Because she´s got a headache.
He is happy. Why? Because it´s his birthday.                                                                               .
She is tired. Why? Because she runs very fast.
He is angry. Why? Because he hasn´t got a pencil.
She is surprised. Why? Because there is ice-cream for
lunch.
He is scared.Why? Because there is a monster.
Seguimos trabajando en la expresión de nuestros sentimientos con la intención también de decir por qué nos sentimos así. Los niños han producido sus propios libros de los sentimientos y están muy orgullosos de salir y leerlo. Lo siguiente es una muestra de lo que es leído:
Ella está triste. ¿Por qué? Porque tiene un dolor de la cabeza.
El está feliz. ¿Por qué? Porque es su cumpleaños.
El tiene miedo. ¿Por qué? Porque hay un monstruo.
Ella está cansada. ¿Por qué? Porque corre muy rápido.
El está enfadado. ¿Por qué? Porque no tiene un lápiz.
Ella está sorprendido. ¿Por qué? Porque hay helado para comer.

MONSTERS

It has got 2 heads, 7 eyes, 3 arms, 4 feet and 6 claws. Who is it? Well, there is nobody in the class of that description so it must be a monster. We´ve been describing monsters for the last few days in year 2, designing our own monster and asking our peers about their monster: «How many eyes has it got?» «How many claws has it got?»

Tiene 2 cabezas, 7 ojos, 3 brazos, 4 pies y 6 garras.  ¿Quién es? Pues, no hay nadie en la clase que se puede describir así entonces tiene que ser un monstruo. Hemos estado describiendo monstruos durante los últimos días en la clase de segundo, diseñando nuestro propio monstruo y hablando con nuestros compañeros sobre los monstruos: «¿Cuántos ojos tiene?», «¿Cuántas garras tiene?».

In Year 1 we are working on the members of the extended family so have been looking at the following vocabulary: mummy, daddy, sister, brother, granny, grandpa, aunty, uncle, girl cousin, boy cousin. We played a variety of different  games to familiarize the children with the vocabulary.

The children in Year 2 are preparing their first presentation this school year about their house. The presentation will take the following format:

  • Hello. My name is Lucy.
  • I am 18 years old.
  • This is my house.
  • My house has got 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living room, a kitchen and dining room.
  • My house has got a big patio and a small terrace.
  • Thank you.

En la clase de 1º estamos trabajando los miembros de la familia extendida y con este fin miramos el siguiente vocabulario: mamá, papá, hermana, hermano, abuela, abuelo, tía, tío, prima y primo. Jugamos a variedad de distintos juegos para familiarizar los niños y niñas con el vocabulario.

Los niños y niñas de 2º están preparando su primera presentación del curso. La presentación tendrá el siguiente formato:
  • Hola. Mi nombre es Lucy.
  • Tengo 18 años.
  • Esta es mi casa.
  • Mi casa tiene 3 dormitorios, 2 baños, un salón, una cocina y un comedor.
  • Mi casa tiene un patio grande y una pequeña terraza.
  • Gracias.

The children in Year 1 were rewarded this week for their major efforts to talk in english during the class. They managed to get 25 buttons in the jar (they are awarded a  button at the end of each class if they attempt to communicate mainly in english). So the reward was go outside to play games in english. The game of stone, paper, scissors was a popular choice. We now aim to get 50 buttons in the jar. 

In Year 2 we role played a scene from Sesame Street which practices the questions and answers of «where are you?» and «what are you doing?» Also , we listened to the story of » The 3 little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig». Click below  if you would like to hear the story.
Los niños y niñas de la clase 1º fueron recompensados esta semana por sus esfuerzos para hablar en inglés durante la clase. Consiguieron meter 25 botones en el jarrón (son premiados con un botón al final de cada clase si intentan comunicarse mayoritariamente en inglés). Así que la recompensa fue ir afuera y jugar juegos en inglés. El juego de piedra, papel, tijera fue una opción popular. Nuestro objetivo ahora es conseguir 50 botones en el jarrón.
En 2º actuamos los roles de una escena de Barrio Sésamo en el que se practican las preguntas y respuestas de «¿Dónde estás?» y «¿qué estas haciendo?». También, escuchamos el cuento de «Los tres lobatos y el gran cerdo malvado». Pincha arriba si te gustaría escuchar la historia.
