ANIMALS AND THEIR HABITATS

In Year 1 we are revising the names of different  animals and related each animal to their habitat. We are getting ready to say where each animal lives in English.

  • It lives in the jungle.
  • It lives in the desert.
  • It lives in the forest.
  • It lives on the Savanna.
  • It lives on the farm.
  • It lives in the sea.
  • It lives in the river.

En la clase de 1º revisamos los nombres de los animales y relacionamos cada animal a su entorno. Nos estamos preparando para poder hablar de dónde vive cada animal en inglés.

The Three Questions

We´ve been out bug hunting this week which was fun and the perfect situation for putting into a real context all the language we´ve been learning. The children in Year 2 did a good job of sharing  their information in English.
 To celebrate the week of the book, the children listened to a story «The Three Questions» based on a short story by Tolstoy, read by Manolo and Lindley in English and French.

Esta semana hemos salido fuera para buscar bichos por lo cual lo pasamos muy bien y fué la situación perfecta para poner en un contexto real el lenguaje que estamos aprendiendo. Los niños y niñas de 2º hicieron un buen trabajo en compartir su información en inglés.
    Para celebrar la semana del libro, los niños y niñas escucharon el cuento «Las Tres Preguntas» basado en un cuento corto de Tolstoy, leído por Manolo y Lindley en inglés y francés.

In the Green class we have done puzzles of farm animals and enjoyed playing bingo of all kinds of animals. Below is an example of the art work the children did on the animals that occured in the story «A Squash and a Squeeze».

En la clase verde hicimos puzzles de animales de la granja y disfrutamos jugando bingo con todo tipo de animales. Arriba hay un ejemplo del trabajo que hicieron los niños y niñas de los animales que ocurren en el cuento.

We have included a few more bugs in our repertoire – ants, butterflies, spiders (well, Incy Wincy is an old friend), not forgetting ladybugs. We also watched Â«The Very Hungry Caterpillar» so check it out.

Hemos incluido una cuantos bichos más en nuestra repertorio- hormigas, mariposas, arañas (bueno, Incy Wincy es una vieja amiga), no olvidándose de las mariquitas. Tambien vimos «El Ciempiés Hambriento», así que echadle un vistazo.

TAILS IN THE MAKING

The Red class have finished their masks and we are now working on tails, to match their masks of course. Time was spent observing tails of wild animals, focusing on colours and patterns. Below is an example of their work.

La clase roja ha terminado sus máscaras y ahora estamos haciendo las colas, que va en conjunto con la máscara. Hemos observado cómo son las colas de animales, enfocando en los colores y el dibujo. Arriba hay un  ejemplo de su trabajo.
