Winter Fun in Our Classroom!

WINTER IS COMING!!

Hello families!
This week we are learning all about winter. The weather is cold, the days are short, and we are having so much fun exploring this season through games and speaking activities.

Some Winter Games to help us learn new winter words are:

  • Snowball Toss: We throw soft “snowballs” and say a winter word each time we catch one.

  • Freeze Dance: When the music stops, we freeze like ice!

  • Winter Bingo: We look for pictures like snowflakes, mittens, hats, and hot chocolate.

Let’s Talk in English every day. We ask questions like:

  • “Is it cold today?”

  • “What are you wearing?”

  • “What can we do in winter?”

We talk about winter clothes, winter weather, and our favourite winter activities.

In the red class they are doing a creative fun activity…

We make snowflakes with paper, draw snowmen, and use lots of white and blue colours. While we create, we describe our work in English:
“My snowman has a hat!”
“This is my snowflake!”

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello everyone!

Yesterday was Thanksgiving Day, so we took advantage of the beautiful message that this holiday has to introduce this special American celebration in our English classes.

Children learned new vocabulary such as family, friends, food, turkey, pumpkin, pie, thankful and celebration. We spoke about what Thanksgiving means and why people take time to appreciate what they have.

We also enjoyed listening to a couple of Thanksgiving songs and dancing playing the “FREEZE” game with a fun Turkey!

We also shared what we are thankful for…

Their answers were sweet, sincere and full of joy. Here are some examples:

  • “Thank you for my family.”

  • “Thank you for taking care of me”

  • “I am thankful for my toys.”

  • “Thanks to my friends because they play with me.”

  • “I am thankful for my teacher.”

  • “I am thankful for my pet.”

  • “Thank you for my home.”

Thanksgiving is not only about food, It is a time to be grateful and think about all the things we have.

This holiday reminds everyone…

to be kind, help others, and appreciate what we have

It is always wonderful to share and appreciate the little things…

Happy Thanksgiving!

Weather AND Emotions is FUN

Hello, little explorers! Today we’re going to talk about two very important things: the weather and our feelings. Did you know the weather can sometimes feel just like our emotions? Let’s find out together!

Weather and Feelings

Just like the weather changes every day, our emotions can change too.

Sunny   When we feel happy Rainy   When we feel sad  Windy  When we feel excited or full of energy Stormy  When we feel angry or upset Cloudy  When we feel quiet or relaxed

Fun Games to Play! Weather-Emotion Match

Spread weather cards on the floor (sun, cloud, rain, storm, wind).
Children pick one card and make a face or pose to match the feeling.
Example: Sun card → big smile and open arms!

Remember…

All feelings are okay.
Just like the weather outside, our emotions change  and that’s what makes us human and wonderful.

«Maisy Goes to Nursery – Maisy’s Feelings”

Teacher Barbara tells a story about a little  «Maisy mouse «who experiences many emotions at daycare!

Bye,bye see you soon!
