Autumn: A Magical Season!

Autumn, also known as fall, is a special season that comes after summer and before winter. It usually starts in September

. During this time, the weather gets cooler, leaves change color, and many exciting activities happen!

  • Changing Colors: Orange, Yellow, Red, Brown, Gold
  • Harvest Time
  • Leaf Collecting: Leaves falling down!
  • Typical animals you can see in Autumn: Fox, Squirrel, Hedgehog and bear… 
  • We can sweep the leaves
  • Weather is cooler, rainy, cloudy and windy

In our 2º EPO class we’ve done a wheel  with questions and answers to talk about in English and share with our classmates.

Autumn has arrived!

The weather is changing, the air feels cooler, and the leaves are starting to change the colour… In Primary 1 we are welcoming this season with curiosity and creativity.

 

Our students are creating their own Autumn minibooks, where they tell their personal autumn stories — full of colorful leaves, animals, fruits and cozy moments.

 

We know how to talk about many things related to Autumn:

  • Leaves on the trees: Leaves change colour, leaves fall down…

  • Autumn colors: Yellow, orange, red, and brown

  • Autumn weather: Windy, rainy, and cool

  • Forest treasures: Acorns, mushrooms, and pumpkins

Can you feel it? The wind is blowing, the leaves are falling, and the trees are changing colours!

Autumn is here!

Put on your explorer hats, open your eyes wide, and get ready for an amazing autumn adventure. Are you ready? Let’s go!

A Colourful Autumn World!

Look around you! Nature is changing!

The green leaves are turning red, orange, yellow and brown. Some leaves are still on the trees, but others are falling gently to the ground.

Let’s describe them! Let’s play! Find a leaf and describe it to your friends.Is it big or small? Long or short? Smooth or rough? What colour is it?

A crunchy leaf

A dry leaf

A wet leaf

A bright yellow leaf

What’s the Autumn Weather Like?

Autumn weather can be full of surprises!

Let’s learn some useful weather words:

Sunny: The sun is shining.Cloudy: There are lots of clouds in the sky.

Rainy: Raindrops are falling from the clouds.Windy: The wind is blowing strongly.Foggy: We can see a misty blanket in the air.

Chilly: It’s a little bit cold!Rainbow: Beautiful colours appear in the sky after the rain.

And what do we wear when it’s cold or rainy?

Are you ready for a magical adventure? Today, we are going to meet the four seasons of the year!

Put on your explorer hats… Let’s go!

 SPRING  Hello, Flowers!

Wake up, little flowers!

The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and the butterflies are dancing!

Drip, drop! Sometimes it rains, and everything grows!

 Let’s pretend to be little flowers. Curl up small… and GROW, GROW, GROW!Can you smell the flowers? Sniff, sniff!

SUMMER  Hello, Sunshine!

Yippee! It’s summer!

The sun is hot, the days are long, and it’s time to play!

Splash, splash! Let’s jump into the swimming pool!

Put on your sunglasses, wear your hat, and enjoy a yummy ice cream! Can you wiggle your toes in the sand? Wiggle, wiggle!

AUTUMN  Hello, Falling Leaves!

Whoooosh! The wind is blowing!

Look at the trees! Their leaves are yellow, orange and brown.

Down, down, down they fall!

Let’s pretend to be little leaves. Spin around, jump up and… FALL DOWN!

Crunch, crunch! Let’s walk through the leaves!

And guess what? It’s time for pumpkins and HALLOWEEN!  Boo!

WINTER  Brrr, It’s Cold!

Brrr! Are you cold, little penguins?

Winter is here! Put on your coat, hat and scarf.

Some days, we can see snowflakes falling from the sky. Snowflake, snowflake, twirl around!

Let’s make a BIG snowman!  One snowball, two snowballs, three!Now give your little hands a big warm hug. Awww!

Are you ready to discover the weather? Let’s look up at the sky and see what we can find!

Sunny Day!
Hello, Mr. Sun! You are shining bright! Let’s put on our sunglasses and say, “Hello, sunshine!”

Rainy Day!
Drip, drop, drip, drop! The rain is falling! Let’s open our umbrellas and jump in puddles. Splash, splash!

Cloudy Day!
Look at the sky! Fluffy white clouds are floating by. Are they like cotton candy? Yum!

Windy Day!
Whoooosh! The wind is blowing!  Let’s fly like little leaves and dance, dance, dance!

Cold Day!
Brrr! It’s cold outside!  Let’s wear our warm coats, hats and scarves. Wrap up warm, little penguins!

A Rainbow!
Wow! Look at the beautiful rainbow! Can you see all the colours? Let’s count them together!
