Children in Year 2 are getting ready to bake their own bread in English. We are working on all the English vocabulary and structures that we need: ingredients, equipment and actions. We are also making a Little Book of Bread, in which we record all the language that we are learning.

Lucy showed us how to make porridge, which is what the 3 bears from the story of Goldilocks like to eat for breakfast. We tried it and most of us think it´s delicious!! Here´s the recipe in case  you want to make it this weekend.

Ingredients: 1 cup of fine oats, 1 cup of milk,  1 cup of water, a pinch of salt, honey

Put  the oats, milk, water and salt into a pan and bring to a gentle simmer for a few minutes, stirring all the time. Serve in a bowl with honey and a little cold milk.  It´s the perfect breakfast for a cold day.

Ingredientes: I taza de copas de avena finas, 1 taza de leche, 1 taza de agua, una pizca de sal, miel

Pon las copas de avena, la leche, el agua y sal en un cazo y calientalos hasta que llega a su punto de ebullición y luego reduzca el fuego removiéndolo durante 3-4 minutos. Servir en un cuenco con miel al gusto  y un poco de leche. Es el desayuno perfecto para un día de frio.
