MAKING BREAD IN YEAR 2

We enjoyed our bread making in Year 2. We were able to talk English only all the time and the bread turned out really well.

All de information about ingredients, equipment and steps is in our Little Book of Bread.

Just in case you want to bake some more bread at home, here you are some details about measurements:

  • 375 g of flour.
  • 5,5 g of dried yeast.
  • 2 Tbspoons of olive oil.
  • 1 tspoon of salt.
  • 3/4 cups of warm water.

Hemos disfrutado mucho haciendo pan en segundo. Fuimos capaces de hablar exclusivamente en inglés y el pan salió muy bien.

This is a video in which Granny shows us how to make bread. She is using all the vocabulary that we are learning in Year 2. We will be baking our own bread on Thursday, so don´t forget your aprons!

We have just started our new unit in the Orange  Class. It is based in the classic tale: «The Three Billy Goats». We are working on the language: «Daddy goat», «Mummy goat», «Baby goat» , «Little», «Big» and «Very big». Here´s a little video about the story.

En la Clase Naranja acabamos de empezar una nueva unidad sobre el cuento clásico «Las tres cabritas». Estamos aprendiendo las siguientes palabras: «Papá cabra», «Mamá cabra», «Bebé cabra», «Muy grande», «Grande» y «Pequeño». Aquí tenéis un vídeo sobre la historia.

We´re very busy in the Red class making masks of wild animals. Each child has chosen an animal and is occupied putting their own personal touches to the mask. They´re lmost finished and we will be playing with them next week.

Estamos muy ocupados en la clase roja haciendo mascaras de animales salvajes. Los niños y niñas han elegido su animal y ahora están poniendo sus toques personales a la mascara. Ya casi están terminadas y la semana que viene jugaremos con ellas.

Welcome back!

We have just started our new unit on animals in Year 1. We are reviewing  all the animals names that we already know and learning some new ones. We are also classifying animals according to their habitats. We´ve introduced the «Elephant song» by Eric Herman to go through some animals names and where they are supposed to live and what they are supposed to do.

Acabamos de empezar nuestra unidad sobre animales en la clase de primero. Empezamos recordando los nombres de animales que ya conocemos y aprendiendo algunos nuevos. También estamos clasificando los animales según sus hábitats. Hemos introducido la canción del elefante, de Eric Herman. Es útil para revisar los nombres de los animales, dónde se supone que viven y qué se supone que hacen.
