First month of class and Halloween on Year 1

Dear parents,

During these past weeks, we have been working hard in Year 1.

After the a new exciting beginning of the school year and once we had revised all the classroom rules, we learned a little more about the European languages , in the context of the European Day of Languages.

We also had a good time while reviewing the colors of the rainbow!

Our kids in Year 1 absolutely love Alphablocks and they help us to running through English phonemes.

As we already knew a looot about colours, we started our new topic: classroom supplies. We made lots of games in class and we also built our own school bag. Here some funny videos we have enjoyed!

As we approached the end of October, we have been enjoying and dancing Halloween songs. We are to happy to know about Halloween costumes and characters!!

Since last week, we are learning a lot of thing about the autumn. These season is very special for the kids, bringing us several opportunities to continue discovering English together.

See you soon,

Lola and Nina

Red Class

Hello everyone!

It is almost the end of our school year and I would like to tell you about our Red Class progress during last weeks.

At the beginning of the term, we studied the wild animals in English through several games, role-plays, storytelling and songs. We love dance!

We use this song to learn more about actions using wild animals topic:

But without a doubt, our Red Class favourite song is… Walking in the Jungle!

We pretend we are intrepid explorers in the jungle and have lots of fun while playing!

We also take the opportunity to benefit spring time to learn more about the butterflies and their life cycle (from an egg to a beautiful butterflie), and we built our topic around the book «The very hungry caterpillar», by Eric Carle.

We made fantastics storytelling and draws. We already know a lot of interesting things about food and days of the week!

Below you will find an animated version of the book (although we prefer the real book!):

Then we started getting ready for our trip to the farm! We played games using the animals in our classroom and listen carefully for the sounds animals to guess them! It was really funny as it was like a TV show quiz!

During next weeks we will «be immersed» in the deep blue sea in order to know more about the sea animals and, of course, about the summer and swimming!

I would also like to tell you that we are working on phonics in English and we are sooo close to identify all the sounds in group 2 of Jolly Phonics! Bravo!

Happy week!

Lola

Green class

Hello dear families,

We hope you are having a nice week! Here an update of our kids progress in the Green Class.

Our little learners are willing to learn English and they enjoy the lessons as well as me!

During lasts weeks we have been working on classic English tales such as “The three little pigs” or “The three Billy goats”.

We enjoy our story time moments and we appreciate the time we pass reading together.

We use the books as a line to make activities, free drawings and a looooot of games in the classroom (including vocabulary games, board games or role-plays activities).

Here some of the videos we have watch during these lessons:

As we needed to get ready for our trip to Parapanda, our Green Class has started its study about the farm animals. We have such a good time while learning! We made dances, we sang along and made our own farm animals fingers puppets to dance while singing!

From the beginning of this short 3rd term, we are progressing in our learning about phonics and we are working on group 4 and we have just started group 5, incredible!

During next weeks we will «be immersed» in the deep blue sea in order to know more about the sea animals and, of course, about the summer and the beach or the pool 🙂

Finally, I share with you our Alphablocks moments, for which we try to have a short time during our busy week 🙂

Below a collection of some funny moments:

See you soon,

Green Class

Hello, everyone!

During this week, we have learned many words pronounced with the «oa» sound, always by playing and dancing!

We mimicked the motions for these «oa» words. We also played several card and board games.

We laughed a lot to this funny toad who ate everything around!

We also played some letters games by teams, which helped us recognize the English sounds and how they are different from the Spanish sounds!

See you next week for more fun!

Ángela
