Discovering the magic of the new season: AUTUMN

Autumn has arrived!

The weather is changing, the air feels cooler, and the leaves are starting to fall… In Primary 1 we are welcoming this season with curiosity and creativity.

Our students are creating their own Autumn minibooks, where they tell their personal autumn stories — full of colorful leaves, animals, and cozy moments.

We have also been talking about our families and sharing who lives with us, connecting it with the warm and caring feelings of autumn. Through songs, poems, and stories, we are discovering just how magical this season can be!

Let’s put on our sweaters and keep exploring the beauty of autumn together!

Huge hugs from your teachers!

Autumn through colours, songs, and fun!

Welcome to the magic of the new season… AUTUMN!

In Primary 2, we are exploring autumn with our Autumn Wheel! Each student has created their own “Wheel of Autumn” o «Ruleta del otoño» and filled it with drawings that allow them to talk about this season of the year, from the wheel we can make questions, answers and stories about the season: from the weather, colours, clothes or activities that we usually do to animals, food, and nature.

We have been learning autumn vocabulary using flashcards, songs, and games, practicing words like leaves, squirrel, pumpkin, cold, rain or umbrella; and we are able to say sentences more complex such as:

  • In Autumn, leaves fall down from the trees.
  • Leaves change the colour from green to orange, brown, yellow and red.
  • In autumn we can eat pumpkin pie.
  • Squirrels can jump from the tree branches and the collect food for winter

Our classroom is full of music and color! We sing, play, and speak in English while learning about this wonderful time of year. Through our autumn activities, we are enjoying English in a fun and meaningful way.

We also read some books about Autumn and listen with big motivation to know who is the «Leaf Thief»… here we share with you all:

Our favourite song to dance and a game to review vocabulary! Have fun!

Let’s enjoy Autumn together !

Red class

Hello dear families,

The Red Class is on a rocket! Our routines in English class let us treat such different topics each day, as the weather or the feelings.

Besides that, we are also starting playing with Jolly Phonics, looking for the letters  in the floor is so funny!

We continue talking about the autumn and, of course, reading books every day. It looks like Pete the Cat is going to be our new classmate this year! We absolutely love him in the Red Class!

See you soon,

Lola

Green Class

Hello everyone!

In the green class, we are learning soooo  many things and soooo fast. We follow our English routine everyday in class and that helps us to feel confidents and ready to learn.

We have been busy reviewing colours and numbers from 1 to 10, playing games and singing and dancing a lot!

We rock in the Green class!!

After that, Halloween was our main occupation and our little ones absolutely love this English holiday.

We are learning a lot about phonics and we adore Alphablocks in every single version!

Do not hesitate to check up this history at home with the kids: I am pretty sure that their laughs when they see the dancing rat will make your days!

Autumn is here and we are having fun! In class, we share stories, read books, make pictures,  talk about autumn and the change in weather, dance,  jump in a pile of leaves, sing and enjoy learning.

And on top of it, Mr Autumn has visited us from far far away to bring us leaves to play with and to tell us great adventures.

We have been very occupied telling the rain to go away and to let us play (we needed to figure out that the rain didn’t let us play outside, but with our wonderful imagination everything is easier hehehe).

During next weeks we will be learning about the human body and the parts of the face.

Have a nice week, Green Class!

Lola

Red Class

Dear families,

I am so happy to discover to what extent they already understand English!

We started this school year reviewing our English class routines and teaching our new classmates how we enjoy our English lessons as «we play a lot with Lola».

This year we have met Pete, a veeeeery cute cat. He has taught that school is a very happy place for us.

We have also play a lot in the Red Class with colours and we’ve been also learning some fruits and vegetables, playing with the classroom toys and pretending we were in a restaurant («I want a tomato, please!»).  I am pretty sure that their favourite song this unit was this one!:

We have also having fun with a lot of crazy mixes that our kids have proposed and I will tell you that I have listened more that one «Yummy» after a weird proposal!

The Fall Season has just started and our little ones can see and feel the changes around them: the leaves are changing colors, the trees are losing their foliage, days are getting longer, and the weather is slowly getting colder.

We have been working in Autumn theme, and along with it comes Halloween, the most popular English holiday. Our children at Alquería ask for Halloween songs and stories and claim: – They are not scary enough!

We have been dancing like skeletons with these songs and learning about the costumes we were going to wear in our different Halloween parties .

See you soon,

Lola
